Monthly Wrap-up: April 2021

Hello, everyone! Five days have passed since we went into May, but better late than never, isn’t it?
Today, I am going to do my April wrap-up 🙂

I went back to blogging early last month if my memory serves me correctly, and it was a bit touch and go at the beginning. I was predominantly reading non-fiction at that time and my reading pace was like a snail because I tend to go to YouTube to do my own research to better understand the book.

I started reading feel-good novels and cosy-mysteries a bit after mid-April, and I think it really helped to get me back on the right track. My motivation toward reading is significantly higher than before, I am on fire if I do say so myself 🤣

I thought I read a bit more, but oh wow, I only read 5 books last month. That’s crazy lol

What really stumped me was actually The Greedy Queen by Annie Gray. Why, oh why, do I adore her so much as a person! But alas, the narration style wasn’t really my cup of tea especially after the latter part of the book.

How to be a Victorian by Ruth Goodman ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
New Starts and Cherry Tarts at the Cosy Kettle by Liz Eeles ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A Quiet Life in the Country by T.E. Kinsey ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Other Prince by Alice Dolman ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(4.5 stars)

As you can see, I enjoyed most of the books I read last month.
In other words, I no longer hesitate to DNF a book which doesn’t really suit my preference 🤣 Yes, I am afraid I have become quite nit-picky. I only read books that I fancy!

There you have it; this is my April wrap-up. I didn’t do very well last month, but I hope my May turns out a productive month!

How about you? What was your April like? Comment below and let me know 🙂

Thank you so much for dropping by. Stay safe and happy reading ❤

    1. Thanks, Yesha! I wish I were like you who can smell out books that you’ll like!
Hope my May turns out a good one, I’ve already surpassed the number of books I read last month though!
